The Covid context forced the music and clubbing industry to innovate and cater to the strong need to enjoy the culture and the presence of others, whilst living in an overdose of screens.
Mixed reality shows, streaming concerts, and VR performances pushed the limits of both presenting and consuming music.
The Session “Future of live music & clubbing” was held during the ArtTech Forum 2020 to discuss the matter. The moderator, Steinunn Arnardóttir, Senior Director of Engineering at Native instruments, was conducting the discussion between Veronique Larcher, at the time Managing Director of AMBEO Immersive Audio at Sennheiser, Carine Zuber, Director of the Moods Jazz Club of Zurich, and Kalam Ali, Co-founder of Sound Obsessed.
These panelists come from diverse fields but have in common that they all pushed the boundaries when it came to using immersive technologies to make performances and consumption of music more engaging. And they had started long before the Covid Era.
