Meet creativeSHIFT’s 2021 panelists

We are very happy to count creativeSHIFT as one of our sponsors this year, and to present the panelists from creativeSHIFT’s parallel session “Private and Public Funding for Creative Industries”.

 

SIMONE LIPPOLD

Simone is working as Head of Corporate Development and Consultant Funding Strategy for the CEO of the German Publishers and Booksellers Association https://www.boersenverein.de/. She studied Business Administration in Kempten and Oviedo (Spain).

After gaining several years of professional experience as an event manager, she started working at the Frankfurter Buchmesse GmbH in 2012. She took on responsibility as Sponsor Relationships Manager before joining the team of Project Managers in 2016. At the end of 2019, she transferred to the German Publishers and Booksellers Association and took over the lead of corporate development for the entire group. She also holds the role “Head of Innovation Development”.

Simone contributes significantly to the establishment and expansion of the EU network of the Börsenverein Group and initiates numerous projects. She is a German native speaker and speaks English, Spanish and French fluently.

Simone is also one of the driving forces behind the pilot project creativeSHIFT which, together with six other European partners, is set to hack the biggest tech-triggered challenges facing Europe’s content sectors and to shape the future landscape of content innovation.

 

ANDREA GIANNONE

Andrea Giannone is a Spain-based entrepreneur. With a decade of experience in film & TV development and technology, she created the Filmarket Hub platform four years ago. The online marketplace for curated films and series in development matches talent and unproduced projects with leading companies in the industry. It’s a platform that aims to have a significant social impact in the film industry.

Andrea is passionate about creating level playing fields between industry professionals to leverage the power of technology and take better ownership of their work and talent.

VINCENT FAVRAT

Vincent Favrat is a serial entrepreneur and a seed venture capital investor. Vincent founded the ScaleUp Factory, which finances future European Scale-ups in Creative Tech (creative industries, culture tech, art tech, media tech).
Prior to that, he led the Belgian Emotion AI scale-up Musimap SA after specializing in financing the creative industries from Berlin (video games, scores, films co-productions).
Vincent started his career next to Claude Nobs at the Montreux Jazz Festival. He is regularly invited as speaker, mentor, or financier to fairs, conferences, and markets such as SXSW, Sonar+D, Slush, VivaTech, Techstar, Berlinale, Cannes Film Festival, ClosingTheGap, and VentureKick/VentureLab.

 

AYMERIC CASTAING

With more than 15 years of experience in entertainment, Aymeric Castaing is an all-rounder: music producer, music publisher, and animation producer (co-founder and CEO for 10 years of a kids’ animation prodco).

He founded and now runs as CEO of UMANIMATION Group, a group of companies developing a catalog of narrative and immersive content designed for new media (TV, VideoGames, VR, AR, MR, Immersive Music Shows). UMANIMATION’s aim is to define the next generation of entertainment content by producing transmedia universes that enlist different technologies and platforms.

Interested in new ways to tell and produce stories, Aymeric Castaing is specialized in transmedia content and shares his expertise and passion through various activities: he is a founding member of the French national transmedia association PXN, he is the founder and president of Transmedia cluster CATS,  and he brought Cartoon Movie event to Bordeaux.

 

THIERRY BAUJARD

Our Moderator, Thierry is the founder of Pan European Investment Network Media Deals focussing on cross-border Mediatech investment.  He is also CEO of Peacefulfish, a consultancy specialized in the financing of the content industry. He offers 20 years of experience in the communication and entertainment industry.

After graduating in Paris, he worked in London as a business consultant for entertainment companies and telecom operators, then in France and Germany in Business Development for Vivendi and for ARTE (Franco-German TV station) in Strasbourg. He then completed an MBA at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, and at UCLA in Los Angeles, where he specialized in film financing and e-commerce. In 2012, he graduated from the “European Executive Programme” of the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in France.

Thierry is in charge of developing the network across Europe and managing the investment Forums from Media Deals.  In this matter, he supports the network’s investors in identifying projects across Europe and in supporting due diligence in particular in cross-border and exit strategies.

He is the founder of the Franco-German Acceleration and Investment Programme for video games and immersive content SpielFabrique. He is an investor in different creative companies in music technology, video games, and investment/start-ups platforms.

Thierry is a regular speaker at conferences and summits on content and technology as well as an expert for the European Commission on regulations for investment in the digital sector. He is an active member of EBAN (European Business angel Association), NEM Initiative, and EBN (European BIC Network).

This panel discussion will answer some burning questions about private and public funding within the creative industries.
